2017 has undoubtedly been the year of the Chainsmokers. The New York duo have earned more awards this year than any other act. In May, they were nominated for an astounding 22 awards at the Billboard Music Awards. In addition to this, their album ‘Memories…Do Not Open‘ reached platinum status in  8 different countries. Now, they’re up for a Grammy Award for, ‘Something Just Like This‘ with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

All DJ’s and producers have dream collaborations, however, to attain recognition of this magnitude, is something of a dream for Alex Pall. In a statement made to Billboard, he said the following:

“We couldn’t be more excited about our nomination this year with Coldplay. To be nominated with one of our biggest musical inspirations is a dream come true, and the perfect ending to an incredible journey with them on this collaboration. We want to thank the Recording Academy for this opportunity, as this sort of honor motivates us so much for the upcoming year and what we have planned.”

The Chainsmokers’ latest Grammy nomination marks the duo’s 4th. Last year, they won Best Dance Recording for their smash-hit ‘Don’t Let Me Down‘ featuring Daya. The duo were also nominated for Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording for their collaboration with Halsey, ‘Closer‘. In addition to this, The Chainsmokers recently beat out mega-festival Tomorrowland, to win the Best World Stage award at this year’s MTV EMA’s. A true testament to the duo’s hard work.
