Amsterdam Dance Event has certainly swelled over the past two decades as dance music’s reign continues to allure wide-eyed patrons from all corners of the globe. Just in the middle of the heat and downtown, nestled on Amsterdam’s culturally rich Rembrandtplein at Club Air, Defected Records constructed their magnificent Defected In The House showcase. Carefully crafted production, ethereal vibes and an unparalleled music lineup rescued party-goers from mainstream boredom and teleport them to Club AIR: an intimate club in the heart of the Netherlands’s capital, transformed for a day into a soulfully organic oasis where uplifting vibes and human connection were the primary forms of currency.

House fans are considered some of the most dedicated in the dance community, and Defected Records has wisely tapped into this ardor with their beloved and globally prolific Defected In The House series. With this success in mind, Defected In The House has evolved into a cornerstone brand of the house label, spreading first to Ibiza, then internationally to Australia and the US as its own standalone event. In addition, house fans have now the opportunity to attend Defected’s very own festival in Croatia, curating nothing but top talent with each edition.

Defected Records continued its run of incredible shows, this time with a star-studded lineup including Sonny Fodera, Sam Divine, Low Steppa, Ninetoes and Mat.Joe, which altogether made a memorable night at this year’s ADE. Being household names within the Defected family, Sonny Fodera and Sam Divine‘s return to dance music’s epicenter was highly anticipated. Sonny brought an incredible energy to the decks, mixing in remarkable fashion, including some of his high-profile tracks like “I’m Feeling You“, “You & I” and “Always Gonna Be“.

Moving on, the night demonstrated the power that British queen Sam Divine commands on the decks, wonderfully blending house, deep house, and melodic beats. The tracklist was something that all electronic music fans could appreciate, tying in CamelPhat, Elderbrook, Amine Edge & DANCE, Josh Butler and more. The highlight of the set was some of Sam’s classics including her remix of “Flowers” by Sweet Female Attitude or “Confessions” alongside Curtis Gabriel. The Sam Divine performance was riveting and kept the crowd moving throughout her set. The diehard fans stayed through the end and were rewarded with performances from  Ninetoes, Mat.Joe and DJ Haus.

As this year slowly comes to a blissful end, hopefully, Defected Records’ Defected In The House continues in their proper fashion as they do not disappoint. Blending high energy with impeccable track-lists, few can replicate the emotional ride that the UK label can when in full force.
