Oliver Heldens enlists fans for “What The Funk” video

Dutch DJ and producer Oliver Heldens has released the official video for his new track ‘What The Funk‘ featuring Danny Shah, with the Heldeep head honcho taking a very different route for the content in the video.

Engaging with his fans, the ‘Gecko‘ maestro recently put out a post on social media asking all his followers to send him clips of themselves with the lyrics of the track. Now, collating the results in a highly innovative way of producing a video, ‘What The Funk’ features several clever cuts of fans dancing around and performing wacky stunts to the track’s upbeat tempo.

It was an idea which the young star first discussed with We Rave You during an exclusive interview at this year’s Creamfields festival, where he stated:

“I like it when people can make their own lyrics, and sing their own song. So I want to get the fans involved. Sometimes I also ask for suggestions from the fans. That’s helpful for finding out new music!”
