Home hot since 82 Tchami & Malaa – The Sermon

Arguably the biggest duo in House music right now, French DJs Tchami & Malaa have once again teamed up to deliver ‘The Sermon‘ through Tchami’s ‘Confession‘ label. The track is the second collaboration between the two this year and precedes their North American, double-headlined ‘No Redemption Tour‘. The tour will see the duo stop in some of the U.S.A’s biggest cities, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Chicago, the birthplace of House music.

‘The Sermon’ trails the saint and sinner’s bouncy, hip-hop infused ‘Summer 99‘, released in September, along with their tech-oriented future house hit ‘Prophecy‘, from 2016. However, in ‘The Sermon’, Tchami’s jazzy vibes are more evident, especially in the bassline, with Malaa’s distinct influence in the pitched down vocal chops and warehouse texturing, most apparent in the interludes.

Speaking regarding the No Redemption collaboration, Tchami says,

“We each have our own specific sound. Malaa’s music embraces the early street vibe of house music from its origin in the streets of Chicago and Detroit. My sound portrays another side of the genre: positive, spiritual. This project combines the two elements and messages to represent house music as a whole while creating something new. The best of both worlds.”
