Martin Garrix & David Guetta – So Far Away (Remixes Vol. 1)
‘So Far Away‘ has undoubtedly been one of 2017’s most successful commercial dance hits, reaching a staggering 30 million streams on Spotify alone. Ever since its release, fans have eagerly awaited remixes of the track, and the wait is finally over, as collaborators Martin Garrix and David Guetta have finally unveiled the first remix package, featuring six new takes on the original.
The first remix is the work of Blinders, who gives the track a Future House inspired kick, developing it into a bass heavy anthem which will no doubt be a regular in festival sets over the coming months. Next up, Dutch superstar Nicky Romero slows the pace, stripping the track back to express its emotional capacity, before unleashing a huge progressive house drop in his signature style.
BLR‘s remix exudes a brooding atmosphere, twisting the original into a high-powered tech house weapon with a palpable intensity. Dutch duo TV Noise are next up, with an upbeat adaptation of the track, explosive in nature while maintaining a melodic quality. CLiQ are the last to adapt ‘So Far Away‘, finishing up the remix package with two different takes on the track. The first sees the pair develop the original into a heavenly house anthem, minimal in nature while expressive the track’s emotive core. The Dub remix sees the track adapted into a bass-heavy, brooding weapon, personifying a darkened club atmosphere.
The highly diverse remix package caters to fans of every sub-genre, showing the adaptability of the anthem. With part two of the remix package coming soon, expectations are higher than ever after such an impeccable standard has been displayed in part one.
