Arty drops magnificent 2018 new year mix under his Alpha 9 alias

Just as the year 2017 came to a close, Arty pleasantly surprised his fans by releasing a trance-infused mix under his Alpha 9 alter ego. The Russian producer brought back to life the Alpha 9 alias early 2017 by releasing a couple of great melodic tracks like ‘The Night is Ours’, ‘Skin’ and ‘Blossom’. At the time, Arty explained that reviving his Alpha 9 alter ego allowed him more freedom to create music in different genres, and to please long-time fans that he’d been neglecting somewhat in the years before.

“The Night Is Ours“, which was Arty’s first release in seven years as Alpha 9, was very well-received by trance fans all over the world. It immediately showed that the now 28-year old Russian had rediscovered his passion for producing. The successor ‘Only Good Mistake‘ also saw Arty’s return to Above & Beyond‘s Anjunabeats label, which is the very same label that provided a platform to a handful of his hits in the past (‘Kate’, ‘The Wonder‘ and ‘Rebound‘ ft. Mat Zo to name just a few). The sixth Alpha 9 release of the year, ‘Blossom’, premiered on Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance #834 and was released on Armind.

The 2018 new year mix flawlessly moves between the typical Arty tracks and his Alpha 9 tunes. The result is an amazing and emotive collection of both Arty and Alpha 9 material, ranging from progressive house to melodic trance. The mix starts off with new Alpha 9 material, a brilliant production called “You and I” which is still to be released on Flashover Recordings. It flows into “Burning Heart” next, which is the latest Alpha 9 single.
