Axwell & Ingrosso deliver mix on Beats 1 Radio welcome 2018

What better way to welcome in the new year than a solid hour long mix from two of dance music’s most prestigious artists, Axwell & Ingrosso. The Swedish duo was part of a series of house artists to link up with Beats 1 Radio and play a mix. Other artists that joined in for a mix were Avicii, Hardwell, and Oliver Heldens.

The mix is a little musical journey filled to the brim with some of the DJ’s crown jewels including Sun is Shining, On My Way, and More Than You Know. All throughout 2017, the duos sound and musical tastes started to evolve and become slightly more tortuous. Their respective labels, Axtone and Refune started to garner more talent and branch out into the far depths of uncharted house music territory. For instance, British producer D.O.D gained massive popularity and attention following the release of his record “Sixes” released on Axtone and was played in the radio mix. The “Future-Jack” movement ushered by the producer has lead to new styles, new collaborations, and deadly tracks.

First to kick things off is the well known “More Than You Know” which needs no introduction. Ever since it’s hyped release in the summer, it has been hard to avoid hearing the record on many radio stations, advertisements, and live shows. Beyond the duos staple tracks, some more deeper records on the mix are EDX‘s “All I Know” released in April on Spinnin’ Deep. Axwell & Ingrosso have been known to play the high-intensity tunes of bass house giants like Jauz, Mercer and Wiwek. For this mix, the tribal fuelled “Run” from Wiwek gets your blood pumping before “FLAGS!” from Sebastian Ingrosso, LIOHN and Salvatore Gannaci hits. Acid house vibes ensure with “What’s the Time” from Albin Myers. The bass-heavy “WOW” from ATICA & Selecta shakes things up a tad more before the duo go on a tangent filled with only their own records. Before that begins, Oliver Helden’s and Throttle’s “Waiting” fills the spectrum, it is very common to hear this song mashed with the “Together” acapella released many years ago by Ax and Seb.

Dawn, one of the duos most highly regarded, emotional, and breathtaking instrumental songs according to die-hard fans drops just as “Belong“, “How Do You Feel Right Now“, and “Something New” play. The last track which is not from the duo “Allison” by Karma Kid & Fono plays just before “On My Way”, “Barricade“. and “Sun is Shining” cap things off.

An incredibly memorable year for Axwell & Ingrosso ends just as another one is surely to begin. The future is bright for the two Swedish DJ’s as there will surely be new music, new collaborations, and new musical endeavors to be embarked on by their labels members and themselves.
