The British house and techno producer returns for his colossal 45th essential mix where Cox has long been part of the history around BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix. From chasing the millennium midnight around the globe to closing Ibiza’s renowned superclub Space, Cox continues as the most capped DJ of the Essential Mix. Now back again with an uninterrupted two-hour essential mix, Carl Cox presents the future of techno, house and electronic music.
Much like when Cox began his career around the forefront of Chicago house music and the British rave scene the music pioneer brings forth an array of DJs at the forefront of techno and house music today. Beginning the essential mix with ‘Black Is My Beat‘ from Electic Tango, Cox wades effortlessly into Riva Starr & Dajae – ‘Housepital‘. Keeping things tech house Cox recruits the melodious sounds of ‘Secret Escapes‘ by German music producer and a hard working individual in the industry Anja Schneider.
Diverse as the DJ himself Cox introduces a game changer track in Booker Shade‘s synthy tech gem ‘Limelight’ before opting further with more Riva Starr and the Italians infectious tempo triumph ‘Rocks On The Trax‘. In keeping with the infectious tempo fashion, Leon & Nathan Barato‘s ‘Royal Hippo‘ followed by ‘See You Next Tuesday (Deep Mood)‘ from the man himself with Nicole Moudaber serves up the perfect tech house platter.
