Carl Cox sparks new label ‘Awesome Soundwave’ with focus on live electronic music

In May of 2018, Carl Cox heeds plans to start a brand new label, with an emphasis on live electronic music. The house legend teamed up with Christopher Coe, AKA Digital Primate. The first release on the label will come from the artist in the form of an 8 track album titled MNTNS of SLNC. He found inspiration for this EP from the misty, mountain landscape of the Melbourne-based artist’s home in County Mayo, Ireland.

Touching on the concept behind the label, Carl Cox states ” the idea is to bring together a whole plethora of amazing producers and would-be live acts in the realms of electronic music and bring them to the forefront of where we are to take the music into the future.” (Source: MixMag). He went on to note, “My idea was to create a label where artists who actually can make their music live, and perform their music live, have a stable platform where they can be themselves, be able to create the music without any boundaries and to feel free in the sense of releasing music without prejudice in any way, shape or form.” A true, free-spirited concept, the label will surely pump top tier house music.

In the first month of the new year, Carl Cox has had a prolific start to 2018, from his stunning BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, to his documentary alongside Martin Garrix, fans are in for a real treat. The label’s debut EP will be available on March 2nd, and features Chrsitopher  Coe’s track ‘Headland’.
