Diplo & Mark Ronson to join forces as ‘Silk City’ at Governers Ball
After a monumental year which saw him collaborate with a number of high-profile musicians as well as performing at major festivals around the globe, Diplo looks on track to exceed expectations yet again during 2018. One of the most notable moments of the year to come looks set to be his Silk City debut, which will see him join forces with British musician Mark Ronson at the 2018 Governers Ball in June. According to Mark Ronson, the project is named after the diner in Philadelphia in which he met Diplo 15 years ago.
15 years ago, i met young @diplo at a diner in Philly called Silk City. so excited to be debuting our new project of the same name at @GovBallNYC this summer. word. https://t.co/f4odL8mZwi

Having been linked closely since Diplo revealed to GQ last Summer that he and Mark Ronson were working together on a disco album, the pair will no doubt make a winning combination, both in terms of production as well as live performance. The Governers Ball is set to take place in New York City at Randall’s Island Park on June 1-3, and will see Diplo and Mark Ronson debut their Silk City project alongside headliners including Eminem, Jack White, Travis Scott, Halsey, Khalid and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
