Ed Sheeran and Dua Lipa among star-studded BRIT Awards nominees
The biggest night in British music is coming and there is some major talent leading the nominees for this year’s BRIT Awards. Annually celebrating the best of British music, the BRITs returns this February 21st at the London 02 Arena. With the industries brightest and most talented artists all hoping for some BRIT glory, two artists stand at the forefront of the nominations, the singing sensation Dua Lipa and MBE singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran.
Dua needs no introduction as the talented female artist has been a hit in both pop and electronic dance music. Her chart-topping track ‘Scared To Be Lonely‘ with world number one DJ Martin Garrix was a huge success. The 22-year-old is up for an impressive 5 nominations in the categories – British artist video of the year, British breakthrough act, Mastercard British album of the year, British female solo artist, and British single with her track ‘New Rules‘ which is just short of 600 million streams on Spotify.
Ed Sheeran is one of Britain’s biggest stars in recent times and following on from his Multiply album which dominated charts in 2017, the musician’s talent is reflected in his 4 nominations. They include British artist video of the year with his impressive ‘Shape Of You‘ with a colossal 3 billion watches on YouTube, British male solo artist, Mastercard British album of the year, and British single.
Both artists join the huge line-up of British talent on the night including the likes of Paloma Faith, J-hus, and Stormzy as well as some electronic talent including Calvin Harris and Jax Jones.
