For his Protocol Radio 281 year-mix, Nicky Romero dropped a bedazzling ID which is a collaboration with MC Spyder. The Superstar DJ states that “It’s been 2015 till now to develop this sound, and actually I made it with the Virus TI synthesizer”. The track features a percussive lead sound with a rolling groove and quality production work.

Nicky Romero and his Protocol Recordings imprint, which celebrated 5 years of life this past year at ADE, is known for its high energy and an unparalleled roster of artists and releases. 2017 was a stellar year for the Dutch marvel. In July, he delivered a show-stopping performance at Tomorrowland that was full of fresh and new music. As is tradition, Romero releases his last radio show of the year which features some of the years best music alongside the up and coming installments that are still in demo mode or looking to receive feedback and test reception from fans.

The end of year mix on Protocol Radio features many of the labels best tracks of 2017, beginning with the killer “Heart of Steel” from Raiden and ending with this zesty ID together with MC Spyder comes as a perfect cap off to 2017. Protocol Recordings had a rather impressive year, from the “Nicky Romero Presents Protocol Miami 2017” compilation album, rumors of the highly awaited “Circle of One” ID alongside Eva Simmons, and multiple chart-topping releases.
