Home Uncategorized Porter Robinson surprises with Virtual Self appearance on Holy Ship!

Porter Robinson first introduced his Virtual Self alter ego in November 2017, revealing the two tracks “Eon Break” and “Ghost Voices”. Fans were immediately intrigued, but also somewhat confused, as a few days later the self-titled five-track EP “Virtual Self” was released. Porter Robinson appeared under his brand new alter ego in Brooklyn (New York) on December 8th for the very first time.

The second occasion for fans to catch Virtual Self‘s blend of techno, happy hardcore, and garage house was slated for BUKU Music & Arts project in New Orleans (March 2018), but attendees of the Holy Ship! party cruise were in for a nice surprise yesterday. The already great line-up aboard the ship, that set sail from Port Caneveral, Florida to the Bahamas, included headliners A-Trak, Claude von Stroke and Kaskade, but suddenly a very special guest was added to the list: Porter Robinson/Virtual Self.

Holy Ship! herewith celebrated its tenth edition in style, as the 25-year old Robinson played a number of tracks off the Virtual Self EP. Watch the two clips of his special surprise performance below and see the excitement of the crowd when they realized what was happening. Needless to say, the unexpected set became the talk of the town aboard the ship.
