Skrillex beats Axwell and Don Diablo to ‘Top Producer of 2017’ title
Releasing their list of the 101 Top Producers of 2017, widely-acclaimed website 1001Tracklists have revealed that American DJ and producer Skrillex has taken the crown for last year. The rankings, reflected by the cumulative amount of unique DJ support for tracks played in 2017, saw Skrillex take the top spot thanks to a wealth of support on ‘Purple Lamborghini’ as well as his summer hit ‘Would You Ever’ with Poo Bear.
The former Jack U star (1463 supports) beat off competition from the likes of Don Diablo in 2nd place (1198 supports) and Axwell (1007 supports) to take the title, with the latter gaining a series of plays for his 2016 hit ‘Barricade‘ which still features heavily in many sets worldwide. A wealth of the biggest names in the industry completed the list, with Skrillex‘s former colleague Diplo snatching 4th ahead of breakthrough act, BROHUG, with Tiesto, EDX, and Axwell’s collaborative partner, Sebastian Ingrosso completing the top 10 along with Kryder.
There were also spots in the Top 20 for the likes of Oliver Heldens, Eric Prydz, ‘Cola’ duo Camelphat, and Axtone star D.O.D, who all finished ahead of DJ Mag Top 100 winner for 2017, Martin Garrix.
