WATCH: Video for Zedd’s new single ‘The Middle’

A highlight of the Grammys came in the shape of a very special music video premiere as Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey’s new song, “The Middle” aired to viewers, with much hype surrounding the release from the German producer.

Taking things down a more pop and radio-friendly route, Zedd’s latest track is clad with a flurry of dancers as Morris belts out the vocals, whilst Zedd plays piano.

Shifting away from his more festival-ready EDM sounds, the release sees Grey playing drums and guitar, with Zedd having this to say about the release:

“Grey and I went through roughly 15 different vocalists – mostly pop and lots of A-listers – but it just didn’t fit. The song is very emotional and real, so it has to be someone who could really carry it. Then, we recorded Maren and she sounded incredible, and everybody who loved this song already fell in love with it even more, so we knew she was the one. If you sing the song and I want to cry, then I know it’s perfect.”
