Trance’s unequivocal king, Armin Van Buuren has always been known to break boundaries and is no stranger to royalty. having performed alongside The Netherland’s Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra for King of The Netherlands Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima in 2013, the Dutch DJ is set to perform for royalty once again – this time, in Saudi Arabia.

Armin is set to become the first DJ to headline a DJ party in Saudi Arabia, later in June this year. The concept came to fruition thanks to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, whose vision for 2030 is to diversify the country’s capabilities and economy, thus encouraging new businesses and global opportunities. In an official statement on their website, Salman says:

We will not rest until our nation is a leader in providing opportunities for all through education and training and high quality services such as employment initiatives, health, housing and entertainment.”

In addition to the announcement of the aforementioned gig, the 41-year-old DJ has had a stellar past 2 months. Van Buuren recently clocked over 850 ASOT episodes and celebrated accordingly, with a show in front of 30,000 fans in De Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, The Netherlands. He also released his brand-new collaboration ‘The Last Dancer‘, with Progressive House mastermind Shapov, which currently sits at #26 on Beatport’s Trance chart.
