Today (March 2nd) marks the beginning of Apple Music’s One Mix Drum & Bass Month on Beats 1, as every Friday in March a Drum & Bass artist will perform an exclusive 1-hour mix on the digital station. On March 30, ‘The King of Techno’ Carl Cox is scheduled to unleash a rare Drum & Bass mix, which will be his first one in the genre in almost seven years. The highly anticipated mix also marks Carl Cox’s return to Apple Music’s digital station after having featured on Beats 1’s One Mix back in 2016.
The Drum & Bass mixes will air live every Friday at 7 a.m UK time and they will be re-streamed again every Saturday at 3 p.m. Afterwards, the mixes will also be made available on demand. Besides Carl Cox, more iconic Drum & Bass artists like Kasra (March 2), Etherwood (March 9), Pola & Bryson (March 16), and High Contrast (March 23) will complete the line-up of Apple Music’s One Mix Drum & Bass Month.
Even though house, tech house and techno have always been his flagships, the legendary Carl Cox has flirted with Drum & Bass in his illustrious past on several occasions. In 2012, he kicked off the new year with an exclusive episode of Global for Mixcloud, performing an hour-long Drum & Bass mix, his last one to date. You can relive that iconic mix right here.
With Cox traveling to Tomorrowland as well again this summer, it clearly shows that the 55-year old shows no signs of backing down whatsoever. It’s exciting to see him still exploring different grounds, even at this point in his career. We’re anxious to hear his Drum & Bass mix on Beats 1 on March 30, which you can stream live over here or check later on demand right here.
