The Chainsmokers & Coldplay’s ‘Something Just Like This’ hits 1 billion views

Without doubt one of The Chainsmokers‘ most iconic songs, ‘Something Just Like This‘ in collaboration with Coldplay was an instant viral hit, racking up 776 million Spotify streams. The track was also remixed by some of the most prolific electronic music producers in the world, including Alesso, Don Diablo, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and R3hab. It has been just over a year since the track’s lyric video was uploaded to YouTube, and the video itself has now hit a staggering 1 billion views.

Released as part of The Chainsmokers ‘Memories… Do Not Open‘ album, ‘Something Just Like This’ quickly became a fan-favourite upon release, receiving more streams than any other track on the album. Becoming a regular feature of live sets across the year, the track was certainly one of the biggest releases of 2017. The lyric video, directed by James Zwadlo, sees the track’s lyrics brought to life in cartoon style, using illustrations to create a stunning result.
