Danny Howard teams up with Annie Mac to unveil new show, the Rave Lounge
There’s a new show on the block ready to take over your Friday nights. The Rave Lounge will air on BBC Radio 1‘s primetime slot, from 8 pm till 1 am, and will act as a platform for the freshest talent in underground music to perform live to a wide audience. Co-hosted by non-other than the gurus of dance music Danny Howard and Annie Mac, the Rave Lounge will launch this Friday, March 30th.
Both Danny and Annie have become some of the most influential and prominent voices in dance music. The creation of this new concept show is in line with their vision to keep innovating and shining the light on the new generations of underground house music. Danny himself has been playing the best underground music at the world-leading clubs like Hï Ibiza, Pacha and Amnesia Ibiza, The Warehouse Project, and XOYO, and now wants to give back to the community with a platform to showcase these kinds of sounds. There’s no better partner to develop this new concept with than Annie Mac, who has earned the respect of industry DJs and professionals from all corners of the earth, due to her fine taste in dance music.
For the inaugural episode, the duo has put together a killer lineup, as they will be joined by Gorgon City, Miss Kittin, Artwork, Mella Dee, Mark Knight, Franky Rizardo, Danny Byrd, S.P.Y, Riton, Kah-Lo & Mr Eazi. If this wasn’t enough to spark your excitement, Danny Howard will also play a back to back set with Defected favorite Franky Rizardo, whilst Annie Mac will also take her turn playing with Monki. Fellow Radio 1 dance hosts Monki, B.Traits, and Rene La Vice will also be joining, both to DJ and co-host. Make sure to tune in starting at 8 pm this Friday, March 30th! The episode will also be available on iPlayer shortly after.
