Not long after word came out that David Guetta would be spinning at the AIDA Open Air Concert in Papenburg (Germany) this summer, the tickets for the special cruise event went on sale. Not for long though, as the French former world number 1 DJ managed to sell out all 20.000 tickets for his German show within just 24 hours! It is the first time that an electronic dance music artist in Germany has sold this many tickets within the first 24 hours of sale.

The AIDA Open Air Concert takes place on August 31 at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg. The special concert is being held in light of AIDA Cruises’ christening show of the AIDAnova, a brand new cruise ship that will embark on its first voyage mid September. To celebrate the ships’ christening, Hannover Concerts and Four Artists (the leading German cruise line) invited David Guetta to perform a solo open-air concert, his only one in the country this summer. On the evening of the ceremony, the AIDAnova will be in the spotlight at the shipyard and David Guetta will spin for a crowd of 20.000, while the evening will be topped off by fireworks and a very special light show.

David Guetta, who is just fresh off his latest release with Martin Garrix and Brooks “Like I Do”, shared his excitement about the sold out German show in a Tweet, which you can check out below. If you didn’t manage to grab a ticket, then click here to find out where else you can still catch the Frenchman this Spring and Summer.
