deadmau5 shuts down Ultra Music Festival’s surprise act rumors
The biggest event on the EDM calendar; Ultra Miami is right around the corner and rumours are floating around more than ever. After Ultra told festival-goers to “expect the unexpected”, a vast array of names were thrown around, including Daft Punk, Jack Ü, Swedish House Mafia, and of course, everyone’s favourite Canadian DJ, deadmau5. However, only one of these can prevail.
In a recent twitch stream, deadmau5 did his part in shutting down rumours by announcing he would not be taking part in the illustrious festival’s 20th Anniversary edition. While he appears to have been sincere in what he said, judging by his slightly sarcastic tone, diminutive choice of words and a history of trolling his fans, the mau5 could very well be trolling once again. Nevertheless, the world will know come this Friday.
“No, I’m definitely not the unexpected act because I would have had an expected deposit.”
Despite not playing at Ultra, Joel still is still busier than ever. He recently released a royalty-free sample pack for producers, featuring sounds and samples from mau5trap label favourites such as Rinzen and Monstergetdown. In addition to this, he is also hosting an all-ages show in Los Angeles to celebrate the release of his latest album; ‘Where’s The Drop‘.
