Undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the industry, Diplo releases his first body of solo work in five years. With various side projects including Major Lazer, Jack U, his Mad Decent label, and a heavy touring schedule occupying the vast majority of his time, his frequent collaboration projects saw him shoot into the spotlight as one of the most versatile producers in recent years. With the American DJ and record producer’s last solo release coming in the form of his ‘Revolution’ EP, which featured chart-hits ‘Crown’ and ‘Revolution’, he returns to solo duties with this latest 7-track EP ‘California’.
Having worked with countless international artist in the past, it is no surprise that Diplo brings in the big guns for this project, which features vocals from the likes of Santigold, Desiigner, Trippie Redd, Lil Xan, Lil Yachty, DRAM and Mø. Fans will already be familiar with some of the tracks, with last month’s release of ‘Worry No More’ providing a teaser of the feel good, summer vibes that fans could expect from the EP. Whilst similarly, ‘Look Back’ has already become a fan favourite in the few weeks since its release. With new tracks including ‘Suicidal’, ‘Wish’ and ‘Color Blind’, he concludes the EP with a fresh update to his 2017 hit ‘Get It Right’ that fans are sure to enjoy.
