From humble beginnings in 1999, to the grand 3-day mega-event it is today, Ultra Music Festival Miami has changed and expanded drastically over the years. Despite this, the love, energy and passion that fans and artists share together, has always stayed the same. In the latest episode of ‘20 Years of Ultra‘, artists such ass Hardwell, John Digweed, Carl Cox, David Guetta and Afrojack all talk about the correlation between the growth of Ultra as a brand, and EDM across the globe.
Speaking about the main stage and its exuberant growth, legendary UK DJ Nic Fanciulli explained the following:
“I think everyone wants a different variety of music and I think Ultra deliver that all the time. I think they always surprise you with something, whether its Madonna or Justin Bieber going back to back with Skrillex or Diplo. That’s their thing, that’s wehat the mainstage is about”.
From Carl Cox to Swedish House Mafia, some EDM’s greatest acts of all time have graced the illustrious sun-soaked stages in Miami, and so too have some of the world’s biggest mainstream names, with the likes of Madonna, Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber having all performed in Miami. While this persists to attract mixed reactions from fans, ultimately, the EDM/Pop crossover showcases the organisers’ ability to adapt to change and account for al audiences.
