Anitta, Mc Zaac, Maejor ft. Tropkillaz & DJ Yuri Martins – Vai Malandra (Alesso & KO:YU Remix)
As festival season quickly approaches, Alesso and KO:YU didn’t waste any time to remix “Vai Malandra,” a track that has all the potential to become a summer anthem in many DJs sets. The original hit by Anitta, Mc Zaac, Maejor (ft. Tropkillaz & DJ Yuri Martins), has already racked up hundreds of millions of streams all over the world and has become a favorite in Latin America due to its catchy Brazilian influence. It was only right to create a club-oriented remix for such an iconic hit, and DJ Mag’s top 40 DJ Alesso and KO:YU proved to be the perfect pick for the job.
It’s not the first time Alesso and Anitta have joined forces, as the duo unleashed their radio hit “Is That For Me” late last year. This time the Swedish superstar handpicked his friend KO:YU to collaborate on “Vai Malandra” and flip it into a future house banger. While we’re used to hearing Alesso’s progressive house productions and KO: YU Big Room drops, this collaborative effort is rather different and steers away from their signature sounds. The groove of this remix is quite unique as it fuses a Future House bassline with drums reminiscing of the gas-pedal UK groove of JOYRIDE. The opening motif of the track is immediately recognizable, and with such rise of Latin music all over the world, the clubbers love to move their bodies to such tracks on the dancefloors.
While the original video generated quite a turmoil within the Brazilian community, the official video for this remix is quite wild and funny. The director turned a farm into a daytime nightclub, where the farmers are overtaken by the energy of the track to twerk on their tractors and battle to the ultimate dance-off. This will be the perfect addition to your summer party playlist!
