It’s been almost a week since the dance music world took one of it’s biggest hits ever with the death of one of its biggest pioneers, Tim Bergling a.k.a Avicii. It has not been an easy loss, from tributes all over the world, starting at Coachella last weekend and even at ASOT850 in Sydney this past Saturday. His passing has truly sent a wave of grief into the world that surpasses the waves of euphoria his music brought to millions. The most touching tribute of all that was also the most attended was the one in his native country Sweden that you can see below.

Less than 24 hours ago, the superstar producer’s family released the following emotional statement to the world:

“We would like to thank you for the support and the loving words about our son and brother. We are so grateful for everyone who loved Tim’s music and have precious memories of his songs. Thank you for all the initiatives taken to honour Tim, with public gatherings, church bells ringing out his music, tributes at Coachella and moments of silence around the world. We are grateful for the privacy during this difficult time. Our wish is that it continues that way.”

The scene will never be the same without Avicii, countless people around the globe are hurting from this loss and can only hope to heal from now on. His memory will live on through the legacy he has left behind, his amazing music, unique DJ sets and influence on a new wave of up and coming artists who have been channeling the late artists’ material as their muse. Rest In Peace Tim…
