Chainsmokers reach one billion streams on Spotify
The Chainsmokers continue to conquer Spotify streaming, joining Justin Bieber & Ed Sheeran as only the third artists in the world to reach 1 billion streams for more than one single. The streaming milestone for Drew Taggart & Alex Pall follows their momentous recent weekend closing the 20th edition of Ultra Music Festival with a live set on the Ultra Mainstage.
Having first burst onto the scene in 2014 with their viral hit ‘SELFIE‘, the first Chainsmokers single to reach 1 billion streams was ‘Closer’, the 2016 hit collaboration with Halsey. And now, Grammy award-winning single ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ featuring Daya is the latest Chainsmokers song to break 1 billion streams.
Famed for a series of popular radio anthems, including Coldplay collab ‘Something Like This’, ‘Roses’ & ‘Paris’, the American duo have garnered more than 34 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and are currently ranked as the 9th highest streamed artist/group in the world.
