It is always great to hear a collaboration of artists. The combination of individual sounds merged together into a track is one of the core values of EDM. Now, two powerhouses of the industry collaborated for the first time. One of Holland’s finest producers Hardwell and US-boy Steve Aoki teamed up and the outcome goes by the name of ‘Anthem’. Premiered during Hardwell’s massive set at this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami the track has now been released. The vocals of ‘Anthem’ are courtesy of Englishman Kris Kiss. It is not the first EDM track where the voice of Kris Kiss can be heard. He was also the singer of Merk & Kremont’s Future House banger ‘GANG’.
The sound of ‘Anthem’ can be described as unconventional and extraordinary. While the melody features more typical Hardwell sounds and synthesizers, the drop is as unique as the two producers themselves. An interesting combination of different sounds and frequencies make this drop a one-of-a-kind. For Steve Aoki, it is the second extraordinary track already, after his latest single with Loopers, ‘Pika Pika’.
One thing is for sure: Hardwell and Steve Aoki did not produce this track for a relaxed party on the beach but rather to make sound systems of mainstages around the world explode. The energy that both DJs have while performing on stage was definitely transformed into ‘Anthem’.
Hardwell and Steve Aoki are going to have busy months ahead, serving as headliners of multiple festivals around the globe. 30-year old Hardwell is also ready to be part of Cream’s residency at Hï Ibiza this summer. Regardless of where you are going to see one of them this summer, you can expect highly powerful and energetic sets full of all-time classics and new tracks, such as ‘Anthem’. Both Steve Aoki and Hardwell will play on the mainstage of Tomorrowland on the same day this July. For Hardwell, it will be the return to the big stage after his 3-year abstinence. And who knows, maybe he will be joined by Aoki in celebration of the ‘Anthem’ for the summer.
