Jain – Makeba (Mad & Wild Remix)

German Urban House duo, Mad & Wild have returned yet again with another tantalizing remix; this time, giving Jain‘s smash-hit, ‘Makeba‘ their own twist. A successful single, the original has earned almost 48 million views on YouTube. With the track having had such great success, Mad & Wild have big shoes to fill.

The track opens up with Latino-inspired percussion elements and a thumping kickdrum. After one minute, the drop hits, as listeners are met with a rasping lead synth accompanied by warm bass. Retaining the vocals from the original track, Mad & Wild include the vocals to help fill out the drop. The second break begins with a slowly ascending accordion-inspired synth, with the re-introduction of the vocals and percussion elements.

Starting out with a slower tempo, Mad & Wild use filters in conjunction with a the gradual increase in bpm to return the track to its original tempo –  a creative attention-grabbing technique. A minute-long build-up follows before the drop returns once again.

In the past, Mad & Wild have debuted tracks such as ‘VUCKU‘ and their remix of Alison Wonderland’s, ‘Run’ via We Rave You. In addition to this, they’ve had great success with a number of other tracks, including their remix of CUT_’s, ‘Undertow‘ which earned more than 9,000 SoundCloud plays and their original single, ‘Palms‘ which amassed a whopping 525,000 plays. With credentials like these, keeping an eye out for this young German duo is essential.
