Bass house’s finest export Jauz has released his new track with DJ Snake, and it is just as gargantuan as expected. With both artists having experimented with a huge variety of genres, the end result is unpredictable, but one certain aspect is the prestige quality of production. ‘Gassed Up’ certainly lives up to expectations, showcasing the talents of both artists.

With DJ Snake recently having produced ‘Magenta Riddim’, a chart-friendly track that lacks speed yet still has an infectious combination of sounds, this new track is at the opposite end of the spectrum. The collaboration with Jauz explores a much higher tempo, packed with energy and ready for the main stage. The track’s breakdown is stuffed with punchy synths, and coupled with intense vocals, the track resembles DJ Snake’s collaboration with Moksi titled ‘Pigalle’. As the track progresses, the energy builds, with the addition of percussion and more synths. When the build up hits, the speed of the track can really be felt, with the beat kicking in and building towards the drop. Combining both artists incredible sound design, the track provides a bass house drop that is destined for festival sets across the next few months, and could feature heavily throughout summer sets too.

Featured in Jauz’s Ultra 2018 set, the reaction from the crowd was definitely what you would expect from such a dynamic, powerful track, and was one of the memorable moments of the ‘Feel The Volume’ producer’s set. An intelligent blend of each producer’s skill and taste, ‘Gassed Up’ is one you’ll be hearing a lot over the coming months. With DJ Snake recently stating that he would be making more club music, this could be the first in what could be a long line of festival-ready tracks.
