Martin Garrix gives update on Linkin Park collab ‘Waiting For Tomorrow’
Taste of music is as diverse as mankind itself. There are, however, some musicians everybody likes or has at least heard of, no matter what their typical music taste is. One of the most beloved bands in the world is definitely Linkin Park. No matter if you are a dance music raver, a metal head or a pop fan – you know the lyrics of tracks like ‘Numb’ and ‘In The End’. It was, therefore, no surprise the world was left in shock after hearing the news of the death of Linkin Park’s frontman Chester Bennington . His unique voice and deep lyrics will be remembered forever. Nowadays music genres often cross boundaries. For Linkin Park, consequently, it was not a surprise to collaborate with artists from different styles. Though, the name of one of their collaborator was a big surprise: DJ Mag Top 100 Number 1, Martin Garrix.
Their collaboration as we know it today is called ‘Waiting For Tomorrow’. And the predominant term for the release of this track is, indeed, waiting. Even though Garrix’ plays the track during his sets on a regular basis there hasn’t been a word on the release date for a long time. Until now. Giving the dramatic passing of Chester Bennington, Martin Garrix is not taking it easy on the release of the record:
“Waiting For Tomorrow was together with Linkin Park and because of Chester’s passing it’s little bit hard to release the song. I don’t know if we’re ever gonna release it.”
Even though Chester is not responsible for the vocals of the track, it is understandable that Garrix has some worries about dropping the track due to respect for the band. With the premiere of the documentary movie ‘What We Started’ it was revealed that the Number 1 DJ really hopes that the track will see an official release sometime in the future. Seems like we are going to have to wait a little bit longer than tomorrow for ‘Waiting For Tomorrow’. But in the meantime, there is still new music by Martin Garrix on the horizon!
