After having the EDM world to his feet by being part of the phenomenal comeback of Swedish House Mafia at Ultra Music Festival in Miami this year, Steve Josefsson Fragogiannis, better known by his stage name Steve Angello continues to make 2018 an even more amazing year. For someone like Angello who is used to play as a headliner at major festivals like Tomorrowland or Ultra, his recent announcement of playing at Malmöfestivalen in Malmö, Sweden was a big surprise. Started in 1985 Malmöfestivalen is a week-long festival that takes places all over Malmö. This year it is scheduled from the 10th until the 17th of August. The goal of the festival is to showcase the rich culture of the city of Malmö and of whole Sweden through food, art and, most importantly, music. Over 1.4 million visitors from around the world enjoy this completely free fest every year. With that being said, highly successful DJs like Steve Angello are normally nowhere to find during a free festival, but this time it is for an honorable and good case.

Just like Don Diablo did with the ‘Better Future Tour’ ,  Steve Angello is going to donate all his compensation for the show in Malmö to För vårt Sverige’, a charity Angello started at the beginning of this year. The aim is to change society positively. All the money will go to social initiatives and businesses in Malmö. The ‘Payback’ producer is already super excited about his show at Malmöfestivalen:

I’m really looking forward to the show! It’s important to highlight the positive things in Malmö. It’s a city with many possibilities and it has a rich diversity. Malmö lies close to my heart and being able to do this project there is very important to me.

At the end of 2018, the efforts of För vårt Sverige’ will find it’s closing with a fundraising event in Stockholm, which is going to be broadcasted on Swedish television. With Malmöfestivalen being the only free show for Steve Angello over the course of this summer, it is definitely going to be a special one! With the release of his newest album ‘HUMAN’ on the horizon, plus the spectacular comeback of Swedish House Mafia, visitors of Malmöfestivalen can expect an outstanding experience brought to them by the 35-year old. Get in the mood for Angello’s appearances at festivals around the world this summer with his Tomorrowland 2017 set below!
