ZHU releases new EP and takes 2.5 Tonnes of Sand on Tour
Mysterious producer ZHU has just released a new EP ‘Ringos Desert Pt. 1’. The EP features 7 diverse and beautifully arranged tracks which showcase the producer’s undeniable talent for seamlessly blending genres and creating catchy melodies. Though the songs on the EP vary differently in tempo and mood, ZHU’s signature dark sounds and vibes are always at the forefront of each production.
The EP takes the listener through a musical journey, beginning with a beatiful intro track ‘Stormy Love, NM.’ in collaboration with JOY.. Subsequently the EP moves on to darker, deep house sounds on ‘Guilty Love’ and features some more melodic vibes on ‘Desert Woman’ and ‘Provocateur’. Finally the tranistion to the more acoustic experimental sounds is seamless on ‘Burn Babylon’ (in collaboration with Daniel Wilson and Keznamdi) and ‘Save Me’. Truly showcasing that the enigmatic producer is capable of it all.
The live experience promises to be a unique and carefully choreographed one as the artist took to post a promotional audio clip to his SoundCloud account -which has since been removed- where his manager can be heard unhappy with the idea of touring with 2.5 tonnes of sand.
Since his debut album released in 2016, ZHU has been on a roll of quality and succesful releases, which include a 4-track EP and remixes for some of the biggest hits like Migos‘ ‘Bad and Boujee‘ and Camelphat and Elderbrook‘s ‘Cola‘. Following his latest EP release, ZHU has also announced he will be embarking on a North American tour this fall called DUNE Tour, Phase 1. The tour and EP names seem to both imply that fans can expect more dates and tracks to be released soon, however that is yet to be confirmed.
