EDC Las Vegas was nothing short of spectacular, with heaps of highlights when it came to artists dropping new music, stellar performances and high-energy live sets. Armin van Buuren was no exception, providing a massive performance at the festival’s circuitGROUNDS stage on Saturday, May 19th. Van Buuren, who took the stage after fellow Dutchman Hardwell, dropped his latest single ‘Blah Blah Blah’ just a few days prior to EDC, and he made sure he included the new crowd favorite into his set. As of today, the highlights of his full live set are available on Spotify.
He opened his 90-minute set with a couple of his most successful collabs, including ‘The Last Dancer’ ft. Shapov and ‘Sunny Days’ ft. Josh Cumbee. Fans immediately realized they were in for an hour and a half of pure trance heaven, especially when Armin van Buuren blended in a number of absolutely euphoric trance anthem mash-ups, such as Dash Berlin’s ‘Shelter’ ft. Roxanne Emery, Luke Bond’s ‘U’, and his own epic ASOT 800 anthem ‘I Live For That Energy’. New music by Mark Sixma (‘Sinfonia’), KhoMha and Fatum also added to the fans’ excitement as they continued to dance the night away at circuitGROUNDS stage.
Van Buuren kicked things into higher gear for the last half hour of his set, filling it with a series of psy-trance bangers by Vini Vici, W&W and Wildstylez (‘Chakra’ and ‘Great Spirit’). Due to the enormous success of ‘Great Spirit’, his 2016 psy-trance collab with Vini Vici & Hilight Tribe, it’s become almost impossible for the Dutchman not to include it in his sets. Undoubtedly this will be the case as well when the he travels on to Poland later this week for ASOT 850 Festival in Gliwice, where he will perform alongside Dash Berlin, KhoMha, John O’Callaghan and Ruben de Ronde (B2B Rodg).
