Avicii fans rejoice, as an official studio version of the track ‘Heaven‘ has just been leaked, featuring the signature vocals of Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin. It’s been just over a month since the sad news of Tim Bergling’s passing away in Oman, but it seems as his music hasn’t stopped living in the hearts of the fans, and new music is now arising from the ashes. You may remember a scene from the documentary Avicii: True Stories in which the Sweedish producer/DJ was in the studio working on a track with Chris Martin. That track was ‘Heaven’, which was never officially released, but a few versions were available around the internet. Now it seems as this latest leaked one could be the final studio version (or an almost completed one) which fans were hoping for since the release of the documentary.

A few weeks ago, Avicii’s good friend and superstar DJ Nicky Romero played live during his set at Kingsland Festival a version of this track which Tim personally sent him some time ago. This happened also in the midst of the breaking news that Avicii’s family gave the go-ahead to release a new album, which could see the light of day before the end of 2018. Following his retirement from touring, Avicii spent many months in the studio working on new material, so a heavy catalog of Avicii music is still yet to be unveiled, and many of these could be part of this new album. However, while an official tracklist is still up for debate, we could definitely see ‘Heaven’ being on this upcoming album due to the catchy sound of the track, the unique feature of Chris Martin on the vocals, and the emotional nature of the vocals “I think I just died.. and went to heaven”.

While this is not an official release and not confirmed as a final version of the track, you can still enjoy a stream of the leaked version via Reddit.
