Home Uncategorized Camelphat deliver exceptional BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix

No act in the underground world has shot up as fast as Liverpool-based duo Camelphat have in the last few years. Known for their slew of hits on imprints such as Spinnin’ Records, Defected Records, Toolroom Records, Axtone, Suara, Relief Records, among others — their knack for consistently producing staple hits makes Camelphat a truly remarkable act.

Their biggest hit to date is the Grammy-nominatedCola‘, which won the DJ Award for Track of the Season (Ibiza) last year, and became certified gold and platinum in the UK and Australia. Prior to ‘Cola’ however, the duo had written and produced tunes like ‘Constellations‘, ‘Paradigm‘, ‘Charlie‘, and ‘Trip‘, which all remain in heavy rotation to this day. Their latest single, ‘Panic Room‘ on Sony/RCA with the talented AU/RA has also quite unsurprisingly been smashing the charts, as expected.

With that being said, it was only a matter of time before Camelphat were invited to curate an Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1, a highly coveted achievement for any DJ today. Their 2 hour mix takes you on a journey through the current UK soundscape, from the deeper cuts to mainroom house heaters. With tracks from the likes of Richy Ahmed, Anja Schneider, Butch, Patrice Baumel, and of course, new tunes from Camelphat themselves, this is an essential mix that truly lives up to its name.
