The passing of legendary music
Rita Ora opens up about working with the legendary Avicii
The passing of legendary music producer Avicii, also known as Tim Bergling, is still being felt around the electronic dance world as it still comes to terms with the loss of a true icon. With his music touching millions of fans around the world, Avicii also touched the hearts of many of his fellow artists in the music industry. As tributes to the Swedish star continue since his death, one of the latest artists to pay tribute to the producer is British singer Rita Ora.
Back in 2017, Avicii and Rita joined forces to collaborate on the hugely successful production ‘Lonely Together‘, from the ‘Avicii (01) EP’, which has amassed over 343 millions streams on Spotify and 104 million plays on Youtube to date. During the weekend at BBC’s Biggest Weekend in Swansea, Rita Ora took to the stage and opened her performance with a tribute to the DJ. The singer said to the crowd:
“I remember how amazing it was to make ‘Lonely Together’ and it felt like just yesterday we were talking. It’s always hard for me to sing that so thank you for singing along.”
Just recently, another legend in the form of Dutch sensation Tiësto paid a special tribute to Tim during his EDC Las Vegas performance. It goes to show just how much of special artist Avicii was within the electronic dance music scene and beyond.
