Levan Tsikurishvili may not be a name that many dance fans will know, but the world is now familiar with his work, after Levan created Avicii‘s ‘True Stories‘ documentary, a film commissioned by the BBC, which hit cinemas last October.

The movie showed a side to Tim Bergling that many had never seen before, and provided dark foreshadowing in how his hectic touring schedule, and mental health struggles as a result of this, would ultimately lead to his death, in Oman, last month.

Now, Levan has decided to speak out, posting an emotional tribute to Avicii on his Instagram channel, praising the Swede for this humble personality, adding:

“You were, and always will be the most intelligent and loyal person I’ve ever got to know in this superficial industry. An industry that was not smart enough for you and that never really understood who you were. I will severely miss your genuine and humble behaviour, which I’ve never seen in any other person.”

Levan also recounts a story about the pair being in Madagascar, whilst Avicii was feeding Lemurs, and one bit his finger, leaving him with a severe cut. The director revealed that Tim stepped in and protected the Lemur, reminding everyone that it was just a mistake.

A loss to the world, as both a musician and a person, it is clear that the impact of Avicii’s death will be felt forever. You can read the full post below.
