Home Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa’s hit chosen as England’s World Cup anthem

With the World Cup in full flow, the likely contenders for the trophy are starting to emerge, with England shaping up to be one of the most potent teams in the 2018 tournament. Having battered Panama 6-1 on Sunday in Russia, England captain Harry Kane – who scored 3 during the match – was asked by reporters which song he would like the stadium to play every time he scores.

His response was one that delighted British superstar DJ Calvin Harris, as Kane – the top goalscorer in the 2018 World Cup – told journalists that he would like to hear summer smash ‘One Kiss’, the latest Calvin collab with Dua Lipa. Having sat at the top of the UK charts for over 2 months, ‘One Kiss’ has truly become the soundtrack of summer 2018, with BRIT-Award winner Dua Lipa now also recognised as a true global superstar.

Taking to Twitter to express his delight at Harry’s choice, Las Vegas resident Calvin – who will also return to Ibiza this year with special sets at Pacha‘s Tuesdays on Mars’ – declared: “The legend Harry Kane picked our song!”.

Though social media is currently caked in posts of ‘It’s Coming Home’ from England fans – a reference to the lyrics of hit 1998 anthem ‘Three Lions‘ – it seems as though beer-filled fans might have a new chant to bellow from the terraces when England take on Belgium this Thursday. All together now boys…

“One kiss is all it takes
Fallin’ in love with me
Possibilities…”
