Dash Berlin misses ASOT850 set after health issues

After a four year absence from the iconic trance show, Dash Berlin was set to return to A State Of Trance with a special ‘Classics Set‘ at the 850 celebrations in Poland earlier in the week. His last performance was at ASOT650 in Utrecht back in 2014, hence there was plenty of anticipation and excitement for Jeffrey Sutorius (Dash Berlin’s frontman) to perform. However, amid health issues that were announced just hours before the show, it was revealed via Facebook that Dash Berlin would not be performing at the show.

Although the group is fronted by Sutorius, Dash Berlin is actually formed of 3 members. Working alongside Eelke Kalberg and Sebastian Molijn since around 2006, the trio have been responsible for some of trance musics most iconic modern hits, with ‘Till The Sky Falls Down‘ and ‘Waiting‘ proving to be some of their biggest productions. The latter was supported by Armin van Buuren at the ASOT show in tribute for his missing friend, whilst Armin played an extended 3-hour set.

Dash Berlin have recently developed a reputation for their reworks and remixes, releasing updated versions of DJ Sammy’s club take on Bryan Adams ‘Heaven‘,  and Skylar Grey’s ‘Coming Home‘ vocal, to create festival main stage bangers. Also remixing a number of chart tracks to make them club ready, the trio have strayed slightly from their trance history by putting an electronic spin onto commercial tracks. However, with the announcement of a ‘Classics Set’, it was certain that Sutorius’ set would take things back to where it all began for the group. Dash Berlin recently played a ‘Classics Set’ at EDC Las Vegas, which you can check out below to get a sense of what may have been at ASOT 850.

The news of his illness is unfortunate, whether you’re a Dasher (Dash Berlin fan) or just a trance fan in general. Get well soon Jeff!
