Defqwop Ft. Strix – Heart Afire (MarkOne Bootleg)

Italian DJ/Producer Marco Berni, better known as MarkOne looks primed to deliver a thumping House remix of Defqwop & Strix’s ‘Heart Afire‘. Beginning his DJ career in 2011, Marco has accumulated plenty of experience before picking up producing in 2015, to the extent that he has now experimented with a number of different genres. Following a standard intro, side-chained chords play behind vocoded vocals until the seamless transition toward the drop invites the listener. As the drop arrives, keen ears are met by a punchy kick & strong bass, while piano and vocal slices help fill out the frequency spectrum.

While the second break follows a similar pattern to that of the first, an extended build-up is thrown into the mix, before returning to the floor-filling drop. Having fallen in love with music at a young age, Marco was fascinated by the Italo-Disco sounds of Gigi D’Agostino and the House music of Cristian Marchi and cites them as inspirations behind his music. Previous releases from him such as, ‘Remember‘ and ‘Be Live‘ have helped Marco gain adequate exposure on YouTube – with both tracks notching more than 41,000 and 27,000 plays to date, respectively. Despite a modest following and a humble back catalogue, Marco’s MarkOne persona showcases positive signs of great potential and will assuredly be one to watch out for in the future.
