Home Dyro & Dannic’s progressive house smash ‘Radical’ turns 4 years old

It’s 2014, the hottest artists are Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Nicky Romero, and Afrojack, when suddenly a young emerging star by the name of Dyro teams up with progressive house staple Dannic, to create the smash hit ‘Radical‘. Recalling trends, times and staples are something we do here at We Rave You, and today the focus is on this anthem.

Dyro and Dannic really imprinted a magical touch on ‘Radical‘, the tune was a mainstay on main stages everywhere upon its release and even to this day still receives appropriate play-out. The euphoric, and energetic tune relives the early stages of EDM’s worldwide commercialization, containing monstrously stark synth lines, fully rounded kicks, and massive builds in the tune.

Since then however, dance music standards, trends, and styles have consistently changed and ultimately been tailored to more a more pop-like/house allure. With the return of dance music giants, Swedish House Mafia, at Ultra 2018, there’s been a massive resurgence of progressive house worldwide and the genre has received a hypothetical push into the crowd to show its hold on the EDM world once again. Looking back four years ago upon ‘Radical’s‘ release, plenty of things were different, but only one thing remains the same and that’s the genuine love for the genre. Progressive house still has a major hold across the major venues and stages in Europe and while it’s falling back into favor in the states it’s not only a trip back in time, it’s a possible glimpse into the future at what’s next for electronic music. With so many creative minds, a modern day twist on progressive house may be imminent to not only revive the genre, but keep it relevant in today’s ever changing landscape of musical taste.

In the meantime, revisit Dyro & Dannic’s ‘Radical‘ below and celebrate it’s 4th anniversary:
