Home Uncategorized Eric Prydz Calls Out Estiva

Eric Prydz has taken to his twitter to post a video, which fans believe is calling out another artist for copying one of his tracks. The video captions:

This one goes out to….

Well. You know who you are..

The video shows a clip of Mama Cass performing her song ‘Make Your Own Kind Of Music’ where the chorus says:

But you gotta make your own kind of music
Sing your own special song
Make your own kind of music
Even if nobody else sings along

Though this is very subtle, the community believes this may be aimed towards Steven Baan, better known as Estiva, regarding his latest release ‘Alive’; given the similarity in melody and style to Eric Prydz’s track ‘Shadows’. Moreover, footage surfaced online of an interview with Estiva where he said he looks up to Eric Prydz as an artist and that it would be his dream to share the studio with him one day. Though Estiva is not mentioned in the tweet directly, the evidence suggests it just could be who Eric Prydz is targeting.

Eric Prydz was in the news earlier this month after his incredible HOLO show in Glasgow. He created an incredibly lifelike and dynamic three-dimensional space using two screens, while all of the holograms and visuals remain above Eric, keeping the set up more similar in style to EPIC 4.0 than EPIC 5.0. In the end, Prydz comes out with a result quite reminiscent of his b2b set at Ultra Miami with Adam Beyer, a dazzling magician-like production that leaves those present questioning if what they’d just witnessed was real. The return of Eric Prydz to Hï Ibiza means that the impeccable production behind his shows will return to the White Isle, plus more HOLO dates set to follow throughout the year.
