Iconic animated UK based group Gorillaz are back in album swing. The fictitious group spearheaded by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett just released their two groove heavy tracks accompanied with music videos for ‘Humility‘ and ‘Lake Zurich‘ both off their forthcoming album ‘The Now Now‘ just a few weeks ago. Now, that the album who’s release date is penned in for June 28th on Parlophone is slowly creeping upon us, Gorillaz have shared yet another track off ‘The Now Now‘ entitled ‘Sorcererz‘.
The tune which first debuted at their Rock im Park live show in Nürnberg, Germany last weekend is a techno clad funkadelic styled tune shooting the listener back in time to a typical late 70’s early 80’s commercialized sound. The groovy keyboard riffs and swing ‘Sorcererz‘ is able to give off certainly keys in on what the overall albums sound will encompass. With several first time debut tracks off ‘The Now Now‘ debuting live in Germany as well including, ‘Tranz‘, ‘Magic City‘, ‘Souk Eye‘ and of course ‘Sorcererz‘ it’s safe to say the album is going to certainly be a techno-funk lovers dream.
Gorillaz also announced their US tour with incredible hip-hop supporting acts Vince Staples and Danny Brown. On top of their regular US dates, the group also announced to cap off their US leg they will be holding their first ever Demon Dayz festival taking place in Los Angeles, California, accompanied by hip-hop stars, Erykah Badu, The Internet and DRAM as well as other notables Afrobeat, Tony Allen and Little Simz, the festival is sure to be an absolute smash.
