Hardwell & Dannic’s ‘Kontiki’ turns 6 years old

6 years have elapsed since Hardwell and Dannic‘s timeless anthem, ‘Kontiki‘ made its way onto the iPods of dance music fans across the globe. A mainstage mainstay back in the day, the track was instantly adored by fans and fellow artists alike. 3 years later, the dynamic Dutch duo would reunite to deliver one of the biggest tunes of 2015, when they gave the world ‘Survivors‘.

Frantic leads and heart-pumping bass were the names of the game, as fans would surrender to the rhythm, and jump & dance, as Hardwell & Dannic dazzled festival crowds all over the world. A bona fide progressive House tune, ‘Kontiki’ arrived during the progressive House boom, setting the standard for years to come.

While the childhood friends haven’t released many collaborations together, they’ve each ventured off on their own paths, with both artists boasting stellar résumés. Hardwell would go on to release a plethora of successful singles as well as his debut studio album, ‘United We Are‘. It would peak at #1 in the Netherlands and #4 in Switzerland thanks to the help of tracks such as ‘Sally‘ and ‘Follow Me‘. Meanwhile, Dannic boasts regular releases on Revealed Recordings, as well as having success with his own imprint, Fonk Recordings. He’s also had 7 tracks reach the Beatport Big Room top 10 in the past 8 months alone!
