As one of Montreal’s rising stars in past years, music producer Frédérik Durand spearheaded the distinct subgenre “vomitstep” and has since emerged as one of bass music’s most prominent artists today under his alias Snails. Finding a home for his sound with labels such as OWSLA, Monstercat, and Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records, his most grubby sounds and unwavering basslines have earnt the DJ a cult following.

Ready to take on the electronic dance scene further, the Canadian born artist is back with a brand new track and laying down the foundations for the aesthetic of his newly launched label, Slugz Music with its heavy metal and rock influences. ‘Shake The Ground‘ is here, a collaboration with American producer and DJ Kill The Noise and it quite simply is ready to blow your head off your shoulders.

No overnight project, the track has been more than a year in the making with both DJs seeking and enlisting metal influenced help through Sullivan King and Jonah Kay. While Snails and Kill The Noise will draw in their listeners, nothing can truly prepare for the explosive assault ‘Shake The Ground‘ has on the eardrums. Durand explains:

“We wanted to try something new and different on this one and bring our metal and rock n’ roll roots into the song. The energy of the crowds when we drop this song at festivals is what makes it all worth it. Really, really proud of this one”

Harbouring one intense atmosphere and an unrivalled eruptive character, ‘Shake The Ground‘ decides the beat of your heart and shakes every bone in your body. Ear-splitting basslines, relentless drums, and low piercing vocals come together for one absurdly perfect production. Sit down and buckle up because Snails and Kill The Noise are taking you on a journey. With Snails set to perform in Australia over the next few days including performances in Brisbane and Syndey, it is the perfect opportunity to feast your ears on his latest production.
