M83 – Go! feat. Mai Lan (ANIML Remix)

Vancouver based DJ/Producer ANIML brings his fourth official release to the table in the form of a remix of M83‘s hit-single, ‘Go!‘. Steering away from his usual Trap & Future Bass sound, ANIML (whose real name is Spencer Graham) has diverted towards a more experimental pathway in his latest tantalizing single.

Evidently, an experimental track, Graham’s remix is a drum and rhythm driven track, applying a more attentive focus on feel and attitude, rather than club hype. Soft leads, silky pads and warm bass all warp around the deep yet delicate vocal sample, creating a calming, tranquil listening experience.

When asked about his inspiration behind the record, Spencer explained the following:

“The original felt like an upbeat dance song on the outside, but I got a solemn undertone from the lyrics, and I really wanted to put a spotlight on that and put the listener in that headspace of leaving a damaging relationship, walking away, hoping on a train, starting a new life and coming out a better stronger being in the end, I felt it very relatable, and so many other people could too”
