Marshmello signs new publishing deal with Kobalt
American DJ/Producer Marshmello is having arguably his best year yet. His sophomore album, ‘Joyride II‘ saw its release just last week, and has already reached #16 on iTunes in South Africa. In addition to this, the album’s two biggest singles; ‘Rooftops‘ and ‘Check This Out‘ have amassed 1 million and 1.3 million plays respectively. Now, the American is adding to his resume with the signing of a new music publishing deal with New York-based publishing company, Kobalt.
Kobalt Senior Creative Director, Dominique Keegan, said of the deal:
“Marshmello is a remarkably talented producer, artist, and collaborator. We are immensely honored to have him join the Kobalt family. Marshmello and his team have proven to be a distinctly self-driven, forward-thinking operation that is well-suited for the modern music industry. We look forward to working together in our shared vision to achieve continued success.”
Kobalt is an independent rights management company, who primarily act as an administrative publishing company, not owning any copyrights. The company has already bolstered their star-studded roster with prominent EDM acts such as Kygo, deadmau5 and Skrillex, and are now adding 2017’s 3rd highest-selling iTunes artist to the cavalry.
