Steve Angello comments on recent surge of artist vs fan feuds
From Diplo commenting messages like “the bar isn’t set very high” to “these spots are ripe for the taking” as a result of some artists turning to Twitter to start unnecessary controversy, Steve Angello has now taken to his Instagram account to offer wisdom on the matter. In the past few weeks, there have been a slew of online storms that have involved names like Zedd, Diplo, Deadmau5 and Max Vangeli. Without getting into the gritty details, Angello believes we can do to better shield ourselves when these kind of things arise in the future.
This is not the first time Angello has offered his insight over the current state of music and how to best navigate it. Last month Steve denounced modern day rappers . This month he denounces those who condone online hatred and promote petty arguments over Twitter. Angello truly believes that fans hold the power to change the attitude an artist carries. The problem for Steve is that there are millions of people looking to promote and add fuel to online arguments over usually non-tangible problems that we consume and promote purely for entertainment.
He sees it to be counterproductive and hypocritical to feel sorry for artists who get hurt when we are the ones who perpetrated the situation in the first place.
