Sonny John Moore, better known as Skrillex has no doubt been one of the most influential and innovative artistsof this generation, constantly pushing the barriers of electronic music and building an incredible catalogue of successful releases along the way. Skrillex is also widely known for his project together with DiploJack Ü, where the two were successfully able to merge the worlds of pop with electronic dance music, enabling them to work with artists like AlunaGeorge and Justin Bieber, with their collaboration ‘Where Are Ü Now’ becoming a number 1 hit in many countries and recently surpassing one billion views on YouTube.

In anticipation of Pendulum‘s remix album ‘The Reworks‘, fans have finally been treated to the fourth single from the album, and this time it’s an uplifting future bass rework of ‘The Island, Pt. 1′ by Skrillex. Steering away from his dubstep roots, Sonny Moore has still managed to excite his fans with a carefully produced remix that comes just in time for summer, remaining loyal to the elements which made the original track a success whilst introducing fresh sounds.

Talking about this new release on his Twitter, Skrillex mentioned how he first moved into DJing and electronic music. He mentions he was first introduced to records by DJ Baron and Pendulum by record store owned and operated by a young Ryan Raddon, also known as Kaskade. It would be incredible to believe that an artist of the calibre of Kaskade unknowingly introduced a 16 year old to the world of dance music and DJing who later turned out to become Skrillex.

Kaskade has also been in the news recently after his latest release ‘Fun’, featuring BROHUGMr. Tape and Madge, a unique club banger masterfully combines all of the collaborating artists’ styles to create a song which will devastate all the dancefloors it’s played on. He has also announced that he will be releasing Redux EP 003 soon, which has fans waiting eagerly all over the globe.

You can listen to Skrillex’s remix of ‘The Island, Pt. 1′ below.
