Home Uncategorized Calvin Harris & The Chainsmokers top Forbes richest celebrities list

After a massive year for both Calvin Harris and The Chainsmokers both artists have topped off Forbes’ worlds richest celebrities listing. When it comes to richest musicians and especially DJ’s in the world, Calvin Harris is no stranger to the all mighty dollar sign. The DJ has been in Forbes worlds richest listing for awhile now. The ‘One Kiss‘ producer comes in at No. 50 on the list with a net worth of $48 million. Not too shabby to say the least.

What’s even more impressive, 9 slots below Calvin Harris at No. 59 and the only other dance music entry to Forbes fascinating list happens to be fellow DJ’s The Chainsmokers. While it’s Calvin who’s been at dance music’s apex as one of the genres highest paid musicians of all time, it’s Alex Pall and Drew Taggart who have stormed onto the scene and continued to develop and shape their brand with drastic stylistic changes from their beginnings. Naturally, making their way into the dance-pop realm the duo who struck gold with their hits ‘#Selfie‘ in 2014 and ‘Roses‘ in 2015 have gone on to establish a net worth of $45.5 million, just $2.5 millon below the influential Scotsman.

Whilst plenty of other musicians are scattered throughout the list – the three top musicians amongst the list are No.6 U2, No. 7 Coldplay and No. 9 Ed Sheeran, with valuations of $118 million, $115.5 million and $110 million respectively. It’s amazing to see dance musicians break the mold of being undervalued per their skillsets and what they bring to the table as musicians. Although telling that only two musicians within the dance music genre are included atop the richest 100, it says plenty to the power of an artists brand when you realize there are 18 other musicians ahead of both Calvin and The Chainsmokers in Forbes listing, and 38 in total – thats closing in on almost half the earners amongst the list being musicians.
